Well, yeah. Tina’s the good kind of demon. I mean, if you can have evil angels, why not good demons? Tina is sweet and unique and that’s what makes her so loveable

Interestingly enough, “Daemon” originally just meant “spirit” if used by itself. And evil spirit would be a “cacodaemon,” while a benevolent one would be a “tychodaemon”(or alternatively, an “agathodaemon” or “eudaemon”) .

That’s “δαίμων” or, in Latin “daimon”. But generally, you’re right, a daimon was simply a spirit/god without any affiliation, good or bad. It’s the subsequent ages of Christianity that gave the word it’s pejorative meaning.

Too true, Nega. A part of Christianity’s plan to Demonize everything not Christian.

Umm, actually that’s not 100% true, Critter. Their fast spread was partially thanks to the fact, that they tried to mold the other “pagan” faiths and traditions merge in their own, make them look like the same, but with other names. Only those parts were demonized, which they couldn’t adapt with a positive match or example from the Bible.

“cacodaemon” sounds like a creature that creates chocolate. And that’s the kind of creech I’d like to know!

As opposed to a “cacadaemon”, which creates… ah, something that looks a little like chocolate, but doesn’t taste nearly as good.

In other news, demons have responsibilities!
