That’s the best suggestion I’ve heard so far. I’ll go with it (though I do wonder if non-predatory paras are truly herbivores or if they are typically omnivorous like humans with the choice to be vegetarian or vegan).
I guess you don’t want kids in school to identify with predators and prey. Just think how it would feel for a kid if the first day of shool they were told that they are prey. Hello nightmares!
Sali’s face in the last panel: she’s realised how close she came, and why have restrictions and rules is a good thing
Oh, how long have the character’s ‘in world’ been calling Sali ‘Sali’? Have been calling her that for a long time (because personally have a ‘problem’ with using actual names and tend to use ‘nicknames’, usually derived from their name or is descriptive of the character)
Bevy from the dictionary means a large group of people or things of a particular kind.
ie:herd, pack, flock and so on. So perhaps Bevy paras are like kinds of Paras that would be the Prey of Predators
That last panel, holding those books, could she be any cuter? This artist has a minimalistic type of art but has no problems conveying complex emotions, I love this comic. I’ve went back and read it from the beginning 3 times, lol.
Could be. It may also be a bit of a pun. There’s a chain of sporting goods stores in the midwest called Adler’s, but I don’t know if they’re in Minnesota.
In a way I’m with the coach here. Some of the most dangerous and agressive creatures on this planet are actually hervibores. The division feels arbitrary.
I’m glad she hasn’t given in and eaten anyone… O_O
I’m sure Nadette wouldn’t mind being “eaten”
…ba-dum-tshh
Bevy stands for what? Obviously predats are predators…I can’t easily guess what bevies are supposed to be though.
a play on benevolent maybe? :/ seems like a stretch… but it’s the only thing that could come to mind…
That was my guess as well.
Derived from herbivore, maybe?
Herbivore, that’s what I was thinking.

A bevy is a flock of animals. Most often applied to quail.
The coach married a flock of quail? o_O
it’s like Zootopia, with the predator and Prey racial divide. But, in this case I guess it’s like predators and sheep, basically.
How is that different from ‘predator and prey’? o_O

My immediate thought was “beverage.” As in “Wanna go to the pub for a few bevies?”
Giving into instincts and tearing someone to pieces. Isn’t this how ALL women feel?
Only if you eat my Belgian chocolate, finish off my Talenti no. 19 gelato, or most importantly, make my son cry.
Then there’s not gonna be much left o’ ye…if anything.

eeyup; works for me…

Beverages. ‘Pardon me while I drink blood from your still-beating heart. You jerk.’
So if the Coach in a predat, is the name ‘Adler’ descriptive?Coach is some kind of Eagle morph?
Could be. It may also be a bit of a pun. There’s a chain of sporting goods stores in the midwest called Adler’s, but I don’t know if they’re in Minnesota.

Vegans can be ruthless…
