That’s… disturbingly insightful. Nice to see she does more then serve coffee and be disturbingly cheerful. 🙂

I like her pose when she does her lecture. I’m not just smart as heck, I’m also non-threatening because I’m cute.

so a fire breathing winged lion is believable but a lion-goat-snake creature is misrepresentation?

Winged stuff is common enough, but animals with three heads don’t tend to be common in nature.

It’s neither more or less believable, it’s about how and why the Chimera has been written and illustrated over the centuries has canged

Mythological creatures have frequently changed how they are physically represented. Take the unicorn as a prime example. Classic literature describes them as a single spiral horned animal with the beard of a goat, tail of a lion, deer legs including cloven hooves. Modern representations make it more simply a a horse with a single horn.

Ah, a classics major barista. I’m impressed. Usually they’re philosophy majors with a minor in bullshit artistry

And thus Monica’s ‘Pet Cat’ originates!

I like how Paul illustrates the whole Chimera as a winged lion, but each of the gals has one of the 3 animals as an alternate form. Brandi as the lion, Bud as the goat, and Jin as the snake.

Not just alternate forms, also symbolic personality traits. It will show up while they are in their human forms as well the more the story progresses. Some of my favorite parts of this comic is how complex and individualistic each character is and how they never stop developing and showing new depths.
