the main problem is she is a succubus, affecting those nearby when she is not careful! lets hope she got a protective amulet… 🙂
I wonder if Digit uses a chitinase to soften her bugs before baking. Normal spider feeding is one of dissolving the bug in its carapace and sucking out the result.
If so I wouldn’t mind trying those brownies, otherwise it would be like eating popcorn and having to put up with the shells or eating shrimp shells and all.
It IS odd that Deitzel isn’t “fun” anymore.
Maybe he’s not in the fun category since their playing together destroyed/completely changed her life. Humans have a tendency to lay blame where it doesn’t belong and that includes throwing it all over people who had the bad luck to be near you when you do something stupid to yourself- or worse, to blame yourself for other people’s actions and feel tremendous guilt.
We really haven’t seen D with her much in awhile and it could be guilt.
Or it could be that he’s a VERY good friend, not just someone you hang out with for “fun” anymore – Deizel’s the one person who truly remembers who Digit was and still loves her now – but explaining that your best friend in the whole world is a micro-miniature super-intelligent dog the size of your thumb ‘owned’ by the Jaguar Girl – is a time consuming conversation that would mean unpacking a lot of information about Digit’s life and who she was before she was human and how she got to here and that conversation maybe hasn’t happened yet.
And I am just realizing that Deizel lost his only friend that was his own size, and that loss was YEARS ago. How lonely and fragile he must feel. Is he still alive? Maybe he’s gone! As far as we know, he never found another friend his own size again.
Far as I can remember (the linked strips don’t go back that far), Dietzel met Digit the day he was “accidentally” reduced in size, and they just hung out together ever after, even well after Digit “accidentally” got made into a human-looking girl.
Looks like Val and Digit are going to meet Briar and Dale.
