Castela is an avatar of the Blackthorn, probably the most powerful being in the multiverse. Some local planetary jaguar-goddess is nowhere near her level. Castela is polite, so puts up with a bit of ribbing the same way I don’t eviscerate my cat when he claws my arm.
Well, the most powerful Lovecraftian god is completely crazy, so no wonder they play in the same playground.
(And don’t forget the golem girls are neither close to being called sane)
Y’know, that DOES make sense; the town she lives in sees more paranormal activity than Nightvale in the Outer Limits ! All she wants is a coffee and to unwind for a change
Phix is an apex predator among paranormals. She’s quite capable of taking down most morals and most paranormals.
Bud is (according to Shelly) capable of creating a shock wave sufficient to implode the sun. That would more than slightly inconvenience Phix.
Castela’s ability to throw plasma bolts and burn down entire hills is just an inkling of her true power. Being an aspect of the Blackthorn, she can open and close doorways between dimensions… and some of the uber-powerful eldritch horrors that live there, are scared to death of her. She might well be able to unravel our entire space-time continuum. That might take out Bud completely. Monica might survive it but would be rather lost, without a universe to go home to.
No, we can’t be sure there isn’t someone out there more powerful… but I’m not sure we could comprehend such a being in human terms.
All that power, wrapped in the body of an angsty late-teen or early twenty. She’s got a difficult road to walk.
…Oh, dear. She’s still working through all that.
Are they that sure of their first-and-second lineup? Will they someday fight it out for first place?
They are sure.

Unless there are other phoenixes, M is likely one of the few people that Cas cannot kill.
With potential competitions like this it’s no wonder Elon wants to get off the planet.

I think someone needs to point out that oversharing (especially with a slightly goofy grin) is not necessarily a virtue.

Forget the town. She’s the Blackthorn. The rest of her being is wrapped around EVERYTHING paranormal or not.
On the other hand, are we all sure there is no being more powerful than Castela out there somewhere? (I mean, Phix puts up a pretty good fight.)

Well, I suspect if there is a capital-G-God in their universe She/It/He would be a competitor – and does Cass have all of the blackthorn’s power?
