Castela probably either wanted it as bonding time with Hiroshi or just wanted to get it done with a minimum of muss and fuss. Neither of those outcomes are at all remotely likely. Now she has to keep from vaporizing parts of the building…or Shawna.
She might feel like she’s been here before. The last boy she had a crush on but wasn’t comfortable enough to admit it to him, also had a girl around him who was much more apparent about her interest.
Castela is worried that she may be having a Blooming Pickle tonight… Hiroshi is getting Butterflies in his — wherever. Shawna is eagerly looking forward to — events. And Scarlet wants to watch!
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Connie, hasn’t it?
Shawna is unfortunately very aware that she likes Hiroshi, and both Hiroshi and Castela have just been clobbered with the clue-by-four that Shawna might ‘like’ like Hiroshi, and this is starting to make them realize that they each like the other – but not, alas, that the other likes them in turn. The situation into which they’re about to be tossed is going to be agonizing, no matter how you slice it. Hilariously written, I have no doubt, but horribly awkward on the part of at least two of the three individuals involved.
What worries me is that is this going to be another trauma to Castela that pushes her down that road to the Castela that “has issues” as alluded to by Paul some time ago.
OK! we’re missing information here:
What we do know-
o Daylla and Castela are BEST Friends. Daylla KNOWS Castela would never hurt her. That’s why here spontaneous reaction to Castela’s excessive “English” on that two cushion shot rings true.
o Castela can absolutely depend on Dayllia the same way. [She would never hurt her.]
o Daylla can plainly see the strong attraction between Castela and Hiroshi that neither will acknowledge, and has little, [as in ZERO,] tolerance for it.
o Neither Daylla nor Scarlet consider Shawna a serious threat. They know exactly what she is doing, and consider her a tool.
o Daylla,at least, trusts Castela NOT to disintegrate portions of Shawna, or a building that doesn’t belong to them.
What we do not know-
o What exactly Daylla’s game is, although the only element that doesn’t look carefully planned is Shawna’s hijacking attempt, and she may well be the only one hurt by it.
o We don’t know what kind of Para Shawna is, although Hiroshi, clearly does.
o No one, except Scarlet, knows that she has her own “surveillance network.”
That said, Daylla, Scarlet, that is just evil! EVIL!! … I approve.
Is Castela looking defeated?
Embarrassed, and uncomfortable

I really hope Daylla knows what she’s doing.
She does. She’s going to enjoy a big bowl of popcorn as she watches the show!
Metal gal is being a meddle gal. I hope she realizes that if she breaks something, she owns all of the pieces.

The quote “You’re all horrible people” comes to mind.
yeah, this particular story is taxing my nerves a little.
yeah, me too. I get that kids are thoughtless and often cruel, but damn, with friends like that…
Charles Schulz made a career out of it…
Yeah, but his kids had no superpowers. You know how it goes:”With great power…”

Well, it’s obvious {in 2023, when she IS} that the “Castela at 16” post didn’t come true.
I love that “I want several people in this room dead” look that Hiroshi has.
Really? Looks more like “deer in the headlights” to me.
That’s pure anger to me.
Yep, deer in the headlights.
The question is . . .
Whose headlights?
At their age, the three of them could be testing their gear all night. Don’t forget the popcorn, Daylla.
And that folks, is what burgeoning purevevil looks like.
an edit option would be nice 🙂
What an awful friend
What are you talking about? Shawna looks very friendly…
Have I mentioned that Daylla is my favorite of the “new” post-calendar characters recently? Because I feel that I should mention it again.
She’s getting quite a personality, isn’t she?
Snarky middle school evil.
I get the feeling that the three testers are now the test subjects…
Castela needs better friends.

Dunno how Shawna will manage testing the multispectrum camera while she ogles Hiroshi.
