Put out an urgent call for Monica, the Glyph Reader?
Monica did restore the GGs to free will and their proper memories, but I rather suspect that she may still have the ability to shut them down with a Glyph command if she really had to.
I’m not sure it can “hit again” – after all, it was the action of a separate entity that was doing it and that entity has been trapped for eternity.
I think they’re there to keep her from trying to manipulate people – that seems second nature to her due to her time as the Chessmaster, and maybe she’s trying to break herself of that habit.
Interesting Jacquline is clearly the one in charge [or Luci allows her to think she is.] I once knew a Secretary for the Physics Department, of Rutgers N.C.A.S. who knew more about the functional operation of the University then the Academic Dean.
“We are the Administrators. We know all. We run all. We have control. Don’t F#@&k with us.” Said in the same tone as from Fight Club. Best not to talk about the administrators/personal assistants. Their agents are every where. Crap. Did you hear som……
Not that uncommon. My mother worked as a secretary at a national sporting organization. A magazine published a list of the ten most influential people in this sport and my mother was listed, while her boss wasn’t…
But it’s really different set of skills. A good boss will know who knows what, and who can be trusted to keep things rolling without having to check every single decision. A good boss also knows when to leave well enough alone and not muck about with a working organization even if it isn’t strictly following the organizational chart.
Functionally, and Etymologically it means Keeper of Secrets. That, in itself, is usually a position
of power. Still Why is “Miss Wahnee” recommending her?
I think there’s something more than just having ‘The Man’ in her yoga shop. Jacqui is, or was, the most polite warm person we knew. I want to know why she’s so pissed at Brandi.
I’m taking it as Jacqui being one of the few remaining members of the original crew who hasn’t disappeared completely or become a para. She’s had to develop an even thicker skin than Katherine (who has more than a bit of para in her background as well) around them.
What happened to Jacqui since we saw her last? I do not remember her being this cynical or downright…I don’t want to say cranky, but I can’t think of a better word
Well, it’s been a few years and the studio is still open, which I hope is good news and not just her inheritance. I agree that this doesn’t seem like Jacqui, but who knows what has happened since then. I would like to know more, however…
Concerning Luci – she seems to keep a pretty even keel, even when being harassed by Shelly. She also has no problem being completely honest with people, which is something Castela needs since she can literally smell a lie. I don’t know if Luci can keep composed enough around Castela, but she’s probably one of the few that wouldn’t be on eggshells around her.
Luci is no longer territorial, or openly hostile. [That’s now Jacquline’s job now.] It long ago reached the level of Respect, and friendly Banter. Shortly after “Hard Core Ms. Wahnee!”
What’s happened to Jacqui is that there’s something inexplicably strange going on with these people who’ve just wandered into her shop — it looks like the B-movie version of the secret service protecting Vice President Wackadoodle.
Possibly, but they did mention Shelly recommended they come here and Shelly basically verified it…it’s the distrust and defensiveness after that point that confused me.
What are these agents going to do if it hits again, Brandi? How could they stop you?

I take it Jacqui doesn’t want to go along with whatever Brandy has in mind.
She might just be tired of round about answers, and ready for Brandi to get to the point.
Either that or she’s testing for shadow government agents, i.e. the MiB.
Wait what?
I’ve heard about not buying into people’s problems but…
Now might be a good time for Katherine and Castela to show up.
Don’t do it, Luci! The insurance rates will go through the roof!
Jaqui’s way of saying, HELL NO!!!
Thats One way to clear a room…

A certain ‘Radar’ O’Reilly comes to mind..

Brandi, sometimes you don’t tell the truth. Especially if you’re running a covert organization.
More a case of “I think you’re blowing smoke out of your butt!”

Yeah… The last pages have me stumped… is like Jacqui has has a complete change of character, what happened?c

One word: Life

I think Luci and Shelly have gotten to the point of “friendly” teasing.

I suspect the MIB would order the Fire Department to stand down and the 911 call would get rerouted to a Microsoft help line with infinite wait time.
Probably the microsoft 2000 help line. I don’t think they ever shut it down, but there’s not going to be anyone there.
That’s because they hate their users just as much as their users still hate the ribbon interface…
That… was not the reaction Brandi was expecting 😛
when did Brandi get 8 inches shorter? Jacqui does not appear to be the same person either . Has Paul taken on an another artist?
