The one thing about Tepoz’s quote there…people with issues don’t always see that support network as what it is. As someone that’s wrestled with anxiety and depression for a good chunk of my life, any time the idea of reaching out for help popped into my head, feelings of “I don’t want to trouble them” or worse “I don’t deserve to ask for help” quickly beat it down.
For those folks that are the support network for people, pay attention to the people you care about…you’re the ones that know them well enough to see when things get bad and you may need to push your way past the bad thoughts to help them.
This. I too have struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life, and even attempted suicide earlier this year. The whole time I had so many lounging, caring people creating a truly amazing support network for me, but I could only see myself as a disappointment, a distraction, a waste of space and resources.
::hugs:: I’m glad you didn’t succeed. I may not know you save through the comment here, but you’re a wonderful person who deserves every happiness. Get whatever help you need, no matter how bad it may seem, there is hope to see it through
How can Tepoz be so damn annoying one second, and so wise/insightful the next?
being annoying opens the doors so the wisdom can sneak in 🙂
Same answer to both, really. He’s very very old.
Annoyance and Wisdom are two sides of one coin…. all in the eye of the beholder.
Yes. That’s how all knowing sage characters work. Jiraiya from Naruto, for example.
oh yes, but naruto sucks and is full of badly contstructed stereotype characters, this is not.
Tricksters too. Like Coyote, or . . .
Ooh, first appearance of Doubt?
