I may not have many talents, but I’m proud to say that like this guy I can adequately apologize and explain my bad behavior in a manner that calms people down. And… yeah, that’s pretty much most of my skill list right there.
But it’s a good skill! One I can not, unfortunately, claim to have. I just can’t help it-I always have to get the last word in! even if it’s muttered under my breath, I don’t mutter quietly enough for it to go unnoticed! yea, I’ve been trying to work on that.
That’s part of the point of fiction in general: “These two people got themselves into a situation uncomfortable for both by acting this way. What could you do to notice when you find yourself going into a similar misunderstanding, and what can you do differently? For extra credit, your answer should consist of a way to avoid misunderstandings as much as possible, not entail examples of how to dig the hole deeper…”
