It does help with less pleasant dreams. Although I usually can’t manipulate them (unlike ones I’ve deliberately instigated), I’m nearly always aware that they _are_ dreams while I’m having them, so they’re merely annoying rather than truly distressing.
I spent a year or so writing down my dreams with the idea that I could learn to influence them. Only managed two lucid dreams. I did notice, however, that when I did start to influence the dream, all the dream people around disappeared.
I don’t think I’ve ever been able to pull off any level of lucid dreaming in bad dreams. I wish I could. It would save me so much emotional trauma when I wake up.
For the neutral/good ones where I manage to realize I’m dreaming, I almost always try flying though. I say “try” because I think I struggle a little with abandoning reality completely even though I know the dream isn’t real, and I’m trying to take advantage of that. I always have to work my way up to it by leaping higher and higher, with a bit of floaty gliding between each landing, until I get high enough that I stay in the air. I never can just go full Superman and fly straight away.
Maybe Castela can learn lucid dreaming.

It will be absolutely hilarious if the first thing Shawna asks when Castella finally confides to her is if she wants to add Olivia as a third partner
But not so much if Olivia then responds by saying she’s straight.
Fortunately, Paul doesn’t write many straight characters.
Unfortunately, she could still be a member of the LGBTQ+ community, but turn out to be ace and therefore still uninterested.
Be brave! Get the words that are burning in your tummy out in the open!
(hums “A Spoonful of Sugar”)
Try “How’d You Like to Spoon With Me?”
Spoon? And here, I thought they were getting ready to FORK…
Clearly, the next dream is Olivia and Shawna wrestling for Castela’s attention…
That’s ONE way to banish bad dreams! Face facts Castle; ultra Para or no… you’re still only Human.
