“high school romance” isn’t something I gravitate towards, and that’s predominantly what this comic has been lately. just doesn’t do anything for me.
there are a lot of other characters who we haven’t seen in a while. I’d love to see what they’re doing. their lives aren’t on hold while these two are seeing how far they can get before Katherine throws a bucket of cold water on them.
meh. high school drama doesn’t do anything for me either. I tend to avoid teenagers. little ones I can deal with. I even will change diapers without any complaints at all. once they get into the “teenage drama” I’m out. I have enough drama in my life already, and I avoided it even when I was a teenager. my niece, who just hit 19, is on the tail end of that and I’m still on the “don’t want to hear it” wagon.
I miss Monica and the crew. The last time we saw them (besides the one or two offs), several bombs were dropped. Monica is now with Amanda and is the jaguar girl. Bud is with Kevin. Brandi is all by her lonesome. Shelly had hooked up with an officer. Jin had just gotten herself squared away and was with Todd. Then we switched to Atsali and crew. We have no idea what the significance of Monica being the Jaguar girl is, other than she can leap around like the Hulk.
Well, the stated concept is slice-of-(supernatural)-life; arguably this is closer to that description than the adults’ adventures were.
But, yeah, I miss the crew.
Then again, we know them pretty well by now; it’s harder to come up with surprising new character developments when the major secrets about who and what they are have already come out. We’re still figuring out the next generation… though they’re still figuring themselves out too.
But, yeah, I’d like to see some hint of a longer-term plot arc. “They grow up” has a direction but not much larger-scale drama.
sigh. I was kind of hoping to move off of this storyline for a while. ah well.
And move onto what? How do you know this isn’t the start of something new? o_O

The romance is just part of the whole ‘high school drama’, or did you forget about that bit with Cricket and the Mermaid?

Awww, this is SOOO sweet! (I call dibs on being a bridesmaid at their wedding!)

Actually, Monica is with Georgette . . . AFAIK Amanda doesn’t have a romantic interest.
Hmmm . . . I wonder what Selenium is up to? (Other than record-breaking hairballs.)
Thought Shelly dropped Officer Hotpants after she got back from the Time Forest

I clicked on a Legend of the Hare banner (right side) and got Filthy Figments instead. Not that I mind FF, but it was an unexpected redirect. Link was http://www.projectwonderful.com/out_nojs.php?r=0&c=0&id=32226&type=7 if that helps at all.
