A manipulator for a good cause seems to be a popular character mold for this story: Jin, Tina, Phix, Nudge, Bia, sometimes Bud… yeah, bunch of manipulative ppl in this comic.
“Nadette is possessive and controlling.” You may be onto something. And Atsali is so innocent she might fall for it. For a while. But when she figures out what’s going on, she won’t have any problem speaking her mind, and she won’t have any problem with walking away cold. As I’ve said before, though, there has to be conflict. A story without conflict isn’t a story at all.
If we’ve advanced two years, why is Jessie still at school? Shouldn’t she have graduated by now, or does the Para school require far more years than average?
probably because Jessie and Atsali are in the same year, i mean why wouldn’t they be? especially when the first strip we see them in they were both in the same swim class together, thus implying that they were in the same school year. since most schools that “I” know of don’t mix different grades together, i mean they may mix genders, or gather two or more groups of the same year students that have different schedules otherwise, into one combined class, but I’ve never heard of any school putting 9th graders in with 10th graders (or others) for anything… again reinforcing that the two of them are in the same grade.
I’ve just never heard of queen bees in the school being….freshmen. Like I can understand Atsali because she knows everyone famous, but didn’t someone in a previous strip call her an upperclassmen? I know of a lot of schools that will combine some classes like PE or health regardless of grade, so perhaps that?
Jesse the manipulator. But in a good cause.
Needed to trigger mama bears competitive side somehow.
Let’s hope that she continues to use her powers for niceness instead of evil.

Hmm. I wonder which pair of wings she is going to use.
How about both? Dragonfly style!
Well, if dragonflies had one pair of bird- and one pair of batwings, anyway.
Depends, 1 might be good for speed and the other for manuverablity.
Wonder if she can switch them ‘on the fly’, guess that is what training is for 😀
Looks like Nadette has her own competitive side too.
Nah, she’s just not going to let anyone put her Baby in the corner…
It looks like magic to Atsali.
Seems to me that Nadette is possessive and controlling. Dangerously so.
No, she just doesn’t like fish, unless she can eat ’em 😛

Maybe Castela being eight is a retcon?

Jesse knows how to motivate Nadette alright!
I’m beginning to really like her, she’s cooler and more fun then i first thought.
Way to throw gasoline on the bonfire, Jesse!
