Also sometimes trying to avoid something can be the very reason, why it will actually hit you in the end! Self-fulfilling profecies tends to be like that.
Of course Phix wants to sleep. If the cosmos is about to overflow to zero once again, she doesn’t want to be around to see it. Of course Monica may or may not realize this. Whatever she (Monica) does, it will probably be “the right thing” and she’ll realize this when she looks back on it.
Of course don’t duck! Keep your head up so you can see what was missed the last time! Then you can do something about it! (assuming you don’t get hit in the head — much)

I took it as, “Don’t avoid what they’re planning to do to you, it’ll work out for the best in the long run”, just a bit more pithy. Ties in with the ‘stabbing Monica’ thread that’s been going for a bit.
Somehow, that’s more help than, “Don’t think of the white horse.”
May I state for the record, that I am confident in my manliness enough to say, I have a bit of a crush on Phix. A smart chick, with access to the entirety of the Written Word, what’s not to like? So, she’s a Mythic as well. Aren’t all women a little beyond belief anyway?
^ ^^ Well, she does live in a library, and wouldn’t want to sleep on the books. And I suspect when she woke up to talk to M, she did what I do first thing–grab her glasses and put them on. Well, in her case after pushing her sleep mask up off her eyes.
