Because M had the potential to poit, while the others did not share that? So, after her first trip, she learned how it was done, but those she took there couldn’t do it themselves?
Indeed!! Isn’t the whole point of keeping M in the dark because it’ll tip off her demons and thus screw the whole idea up? That’s why they only have one shot at this (and that includes all possible future recursions).
Monica’s white hair, Tina’s white blouse, murky background, strangely foreboding dialog, though Tina doesn’t really know what’s going down…This sounds and looks like a nightmare…
Naughty Tina, no foreshadowing. Still, it makes for a great strip. Love the closeups of both of them. And, a hint that the arc is drawing to a conclusion before too long.
Loving the new direction you’re taking the art, by the way. Something about the way Monica’s being drawn lately just makes the reader feel even more sympathetic for her, given her expected fate (especially since, given what we know of the Wapsi girls, it’s going to go anything but smoothly).
I’m gonna join the dream theorists. The background behind Monica in the first panelish area is just weird. A praying virgin window at Tina’s coffee shop?
Despite the foreshadowing, the last panel is the second cutest image of Tina i’ve seen! I don’t think I’d mind foreboding dialogue if it came with such a cheery smile and a promise of a perfect brew.
Wait a minute: French Press with a Lemon Twist – isn’t that… oh, no, wait, Shelly’s drink is a “Sumatra with a depth charge”. For a moment there, I thought perhaps we were in some sort of weird dream state.
I suspect Pablo is going to lead us on until the end, and then when it all comes crashing down, we’ll look at everything in retrospect and realize, “of COURSE it had to happen that way. He was dropping hints all along!”
What a great panel today! I love it when Paul goes outside his usual stylistic boundaries and pushes the envelope a bit. Great, scary perspective on Tina – one of the few times she actually looks demonic!
Tina looks really weird in the first panel. The shading doesn’t do her justice, she has all her teeth but the front ones, and her nose looks awful and inhuman.
OMG OMG OMG
At first, when everyone was going bonkers on the other panels and saying, “No, he can’t kill Monica! I can’t believe he’s going to kill her!” I was like, nah. You’re all over reacting! But now? NOW? I’m freakin’ out here, man. In short: he can’t kill Monica. It just can’t happen. Can it?
While looking at this again, I realized… Monica looks so strange with her mouth closed. That might just say something about her character… or she just has poofy lips! XD
Nice close ups of Tina
I have wondered. how does Monica poit? I thought it was from the trip to the library. but she took two others there herself and they dont poit.
Because M had the potential to poit, while the others did not share that? So, after her first trip, she learned how it was done, but those she took there couldn’t do it themselves?
Monica learnt to poit when she first went to the Library, i think.
Last panel: Warning! Foreboding dialog next four panels!
(…or hwever many…)
Bad Tina! Bad, bad, naughty, Tina! No more foreboding dialogue for you!
Indeed!! Isn’t the whole point of keeping M in the dark because it’ll tip off her demons and thus screw the whole idea up? That’s why they only have one shot at this (and that includes all possible future recursions).
This is very much off…

Is that supposed to be a Slayer reference? XD
Also, at the rate these panels are growing, we’ll need 1600×1280 resolution just to view the Aztec Singularity. (Is that a good term for it?)

You know – the abrupt shift in style, the odd panelisation, the dialog – is it possible, mayhaps, that this is, in fact, a dream?
Creeeeeepy

It sure looks like a version of Our Lady of Guadalupe to me. Which fits the Aztecs and others in the setting.

Lemon twist? Mmmmmmm

On second thought – this is a dream. Tina looks too much like Jin in that last panel. And the dialogue is way too snarky.

Tina has never been sexier. Even with the eyes being all swirly.
The art for today’s strip is absolutely breathtaking. And I’m predicting that the proverbial shite will hit the fan on. Nov. 16th.
Not the 16th, the 20th…… that’s when the Twilight sequel comes out…..;) New Moon…..
/facepalm
I like the artwork!
OHHHH, November 20th. Okay, I get it.
Buckle your seat belts, kids. We’re in for a bumpy ride the next two weeks, methinks.

Hey! I just noticed the Virgin De Guadelupe in the background! It looks nice.
