“Gentlemen, I have, every reason to believe that these gin soaked plans of a secret German weapon are really the brandy soaked plans of a secret German weapon!”
As has already been said [more elegantly in ye Olde (proper) English:]
Unless it’s a wine tasting,
Definition of pore
pored; poring
intransitive verb
1 :to gaze intently
2 :to read or study attentively —usually used with over
3 :to reflect or meditate steadily
Call me a grumpy-butt if you guys like, but I really like the older strips better. Back before this strip turned into Paul’s love-letter to Monster High.
Hmm. For some reason the stories revolving around Atsali have never interested me in the slightest. I am totally enjoying the various exploits of Stinkweed and friends though.
It IS a very different feel these last few years than the calendar machine days, of that there is no doubt.
Times change, authors interests change, and so do their stories, it’s a little thing called “style evolution”, and if he hadn’t changed the webic would have ended years ago due to running out of ideas to put the older characters through
I started somewhere in the middle—after Monica and the Calendar Machine but before Katherine’s adventure with Atsali. (I think the first time I said anything here was when Tina was having a little trouble pulling herself together one morning.) So I was hooked by the already-corrupted version.
(I do miss some of the original characters…but the new ones sure haven’t let me down.)
Still really enjoy the comic and like most of the new characters, but I would like the occasional story to go back to the original cast… just every once in a while, only for a couple weeks even….
Yeah, at least one or two pages every month or so showing that they are still around and doing things, or just have them guest star… in what use to be their comic…
But hey, not every story has to be The Simpsons that has managed to survive 25+ years because things rarely ever have long reaching impact (only when they kill of a minor character that most wouldn’t remember anyway)
Was that last remark a shot at Castela? Could he be a jerk? Or was that just a butterfly remark?
Point of diction: you pore through books.
He probably meant it as a comment on his butterfly period, but works to well as a innuendo for wanti g to bang Castela
Freudean slip.
Wherein possibly flirting with someone makes you a jerk.
Oh, I think that makes is OBVIOUS his intentions towards Castela.
At the very least it’s a Freudian slip; whether his hormones are stagewhispering or speaking out loud, he’s definitely interested.
Oh, they were meant for each other, with their blushing and all.
At least Castela isn’t in bloom right now.
But she is blushing, snd so is Hiroshi.
Not denied. But think how his comment would have gone had she been! That would have resulted in some serious blushing!
Maan, it would be awkward if Castela was to pop up a flower right now…
Would that make her a dickhead?
“Pore” rather than “pour”.
“All night long we poured over the maps. Sometimes we poured over the glasses, but mostly we poured over the maps.” – Goon Show, The Was Who Never Man
“Gentlemen, I have, every reason to believe that these gin soaked plans of a secret German weapon are really the brandy soaked plans of a secret German weapon!”
I’ve heard a few of the episodes.

Shameless flirt…
Hiroshi! Such Language in mixed company! [… and with an array of Stamens AND Carpels, Castela is mixed company all by herself.]
Phrasing!
Phrasing indeed!

Tell that to the guys who do Penny Arcade. They’ve been going strong for a long time, without ridiculous cast bloat or wild, convoluted plotlines.
I think I said last time that the strip went downhill right after Monica gave Heather the voodoo doll of Shelly.
So, after the 3rd comic then? Tell me, why are you still reading?

Ok, Hiroshi is adorkable.
Yep, I doubt that Hiroshi has any clue about Castilela’s hormone based sprouting or what his words mean to her.
Oh no you don’t boy, there will be no pollunating on our watch. Lest a certain plant girl vaporizes you. Keep your fingers in plain sight
It’s not his fingers she’s interested in.
I miss Tina
*ahem*
