You know, I looked 16 up until my mid 20’s and now I look like I’m early 20s in my 30s. It maybe the case that if they are HS seniors they just LOOK young like I do. Not everyone “looks their age” whatever that means lol
I got checked for ID till I was almost 30 when the drinking age was 18 and my daughter still gets carded in her 40s.
(I still think changing it to 21 was sufficient cause to overthrow the government and return DC to swampland.)
Can’t say that age is a factor in that. I’m a lot older than that and can spout science and Monty Python quotes with the best of them. But DnD always left me cold.

Oh, it will probably be worse than that. There will be another ghostly cross-timeline incursion, involving both of them, and this time their equivalents will be present and visually identical. Well be left trying to figure out which is Barbara, Mindy, ydniM, arabraB, and whether ihsoriH is also dedaehria.
If Cass introduces them to her sister and her “aunts” their heads really will explode. First hand knowledge of things most paras think are myths or haven’t even imagined.
Considering their early school years and the struggle to look human I don’t think strange life-forms would impress them much.
Their environment is a different matter. Like us muggles, or perhaps even more than us, they yearn for terra firma.

And then he goes and tells them both that he not only knows they are alive but knows all about them. ( Girls like this are always sure that the “hot” guys will NEVER notice them. let alone know anything about them.) let the Nerdlet heart attacks begin. there might be some feinting happening. or at least two cases of “embarrassed may I melt into the floor and die now because the hot guy has stated he know me and all about me”
