Bud wouldn’t call in the MIB as she hate the bureaucracy of it all. and unless things have been patched up off-screen and/or they happened on camera and i forgot about them: I’m pretty sure that Shelley isn’t on really good speaking terms with Jin, though she would be “very well dressed”, the MIB agents… hmm, iffy on that. Monica wouldn’t need to make an appointment, she’d just come by the office as she knows both of them from the Fermented Banana days… but Brandi, yeah, she would be very well dressed, and having MIB in tow would be nothing unusual for her as Director, and even though she knows Shelley, I’m not sure if she’s ever met Jacquline, so i see the phrasing that Luci is using to describe what she wanted as appropriate for the initial meeting. and it probably isn’t Katherine herself since she also knows them both, AND in her last speech bubble she says that she has a friend that can help thus implying it’s not her… ALTHOUGH… i guess she could be using the MIB contact to “borrow” a few Agents for a while and wants to ensure her being taken seriously, rather than a lone loony lady that can be safely blown off and ignored because seriously… “a kid that’s half PLANT, and can also VAPORIZE BOULDERS… yeah, Right! lady, see you next time on Candid Camera….” but if she has a government escort, doing their “Secret Service Agent” cover, then it get’s a little bit more “real” and harder to ignore, you know what i mean?
Actually that one particular boulder was a a bank shot, that flew out of sight, over their shoulders, and the HORIZEN, too fast for Daylla to see it.

Which was a fortunate choice. If she had used too much Scotch she would probably have missed the boulder entirely, and there would have been a barn in the next county looking for a new broad side.

t remember Amanda having been “clued in” (leading up to the discovery of the Vimana-cell Artifact and Shelly’s exile in the Time Forest) but I don’t recall Jacqui having ever learned about the paranormal. Now here’s a couple of faces we haven’t seen in forever. Hopefully this marks the beginning of steering away from the Atsali/Castela arc and into a more rounded arc where we see more of the cast. Cause seriously, when was the last time we saw Phix, Nudge, Shelly, The Golem Girls, or The Pocket Elf in something other than a cameo?
Seeing a few comments about Jaqui already being in the know courtesy of Nudge/Tina, but I don’t recall that at all. Are they thinking of Amanda, the photographer?
Kath met Jacqui at least as far back as those first trips to Daren’s. What I can’t figure out is why the five agents? The last time Kath had agents as such with her, it was a guest art.
Kath will test the waters to see if Jacqui and Luci can be brought into the fold officially as allies. It was suggested a few discussions back that perhaps Kath could be considered a para. Lanthian and a six way human chimera. After rereading this entire webcomic from start to present, it is starting to feel like Paul is reaching that state of grace with his characters where he is doing as much reportage as writing. Genius!!!
You only need to vent when you’re running too hot. If you vent to often it means your coolant system isn’t keeping up with the load, and its time for a replacement or upgrade.

I’m very much in agreement with you; I miss the older/adult characters.
None of them are Main Characters any longer, is the thing.
And Paul is introducing a whole new cast of characters.

I suspect so. Amanda is one of Monica’s oldest and most trusted friends, so it was natural for Monica to be Nudged into telling her what was going on.
I don’t think Jacqui has ever known, though. Shelly didn’t tell her (that we know of) and I don’t recall that she’s ever met Tina, Nudge, or Phix
She met Tina and gave her yoga lessons. Monica and Shelly thought at first (as did we all) that Jacqui and Tina had had sex.
