Now that we know that “ghosts” are just communication leakages from a parallel universe next door, there are all sorts of interesting philosophical and practical issues to explore.

Is being jealous that your counterpart in another universe has a hot boyfriend/girlfriend, while you’re still single, a form of sibling rivalry?

If the book you need isn’t available from the school library, do you have reciprocal borrowing privileges to check out the copy in the library of one of the parallel-universe schools? If so, what’s the late fee if you don’t manage to create a resonance cascade to get it back in time?

Does the cafeteria Over There have anything better for lunch than the one here? or is it the same Chicken-Fried Unidentified mystery meat special?

Do we have to worry about the Hagroon?

If you do check out a book from the alternate, make sure it’s not a history book or you’ll get answers wrong on the test if you use it to study. And fiction may turn out differently, Shakespeare may have decided to make “Romeo and Juliet” a comedy…

After years of annoyance “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” suddenly makes total sense.

Romeo and Juliet may actually have been written to be a comedy, given the moral values at the time. see, with how ppl viewed young love as fleeting and ephemeral, and the focus on serving the prosperity of one’s family/house, Romeo and Juliet goes from our modern view as a tragedy of star crossed lovers, to a comedy of errors about two young idiots who in their passion and disregard for the politics of their situation, probably got their entire families put to death in the aftermath, as after the altercation in the square, the lord of the city declared that if there was another violent mixup between the montegues and capulets, he’d put the lot of them to the sword.

    What happened to Daylla?

    Did she transfer?
Did she meet an unfortunate fate?

I can’t believe she’d leave the club due to her experience, she’s tougher than that.

    Oh, yeah. She found Mohan.

    So Daylla has ditched them.

    Daylla’s been Mohan’ed.

I, too am very curious as to what exactly happened to apparently remove Daylla from her former circle of friends. Did she die? Move away? Grow apart from them and started hanging with other people? Drop out of school for some reason?

    Also, what happened to/with Hiroshi?

Seems rather harsh to assume that she was Castella’s best friend since, what? kindergarten? and then, boom, “sorry, guys, I have a boyfriend now, got no time for you.”

I mean, I know it happens, but Daylla just doesn’t seem the type.

And, as seems to happen to a lot of the male love interests in the Wapsiverse, Hiroshi seems to have suddenly disappeared, too.

      You failed to mention Timothy.

You are correct, sir. Timothy also seems to have vanished. Another character that was supposedly a longtime friend of Pickle’s, so hard to believe he’d take off without a word or anyone commenting on his absence.

Scarlet is right there, so it’s not like she and Timmeh are so busy canoodling that they have no time for their old friends anymore. Hiroshi and Timmy seem to have disappeared solely because they weren’t needed to create love triangles anymore.

Timothy is likely doing what he was doing last time: the snack and coffee run.

You folks seen to be to be jumping pretty hard in the “Oh my Dog, they’ve all been put on the bus out of town” direction, on the basis of not a lot of hard evidence here. This is the first “at school and at the clubroom” strip we’ve seen in a long time… and even in our world you can’t assume that even a gang of close friends are perpetually “joined at the hip”. For all we know, Timmy has just stopped at the vending machine for a can of whatever coffee drink he’s currently jonesing for, and will walk on-scene in the next few strips.

I think it’s really a bit too early to presume that Daylla and Timothy and Hiroshi have been turned into unpersons.

        This ^
Just because we don’t see Person A on one page does not mean they have been removed from the story

Dialogue in the first panel certainly seems to indicate that Daylla, at least, is no longer part of the club. And I’ve actually been wondering about Hiroshi since the strip showing Pickle starting high school. We haven’t seen him since Poseidon’s resort during summer break, in the Castella/Hiroshi/Shawna love triangle storyline.

Alas, Shawna makes a valid point; storeroom or no, every stick of furniture has a tale to tell. Ghost’s/phantoms reside everywhere…they only want THEIR side of the story told.
