Believe me, snow loses its power to charm after a few decades. Still, it can be breathtakingly beautiful, and without a proper snowy winter the spring wouldn’t be nearly so uplifting, so I guess it comes out even. 🙂
I’m from New England…Halloween costumes here have to take into account snowsuits or other forms of cold weather clothing under them. This scene is not a surprising one 🙂
I was in Custer, South Dakota a few years ago when we got a blizzard on October 3. We only got 48″, people north of us got 4′. Thousands of dead cows, and the Republicans had just shut down the federal government.
I’m laughing SO HARD right now because I was just thinking from the previous strip, “We haven’t seen Monica in a while”…and THE INSTANT I saw her pop in the middle frame, I KNEW what was going to happen in the last one…Thanks Paul, I needed that snort.
And yet again I just get jealous I don’t get snow down here

Even in Boise, it’s been known to snow on Halloween.
The shopping mall was invented in Minnesota because, on average, there are only 126 days/year with good shopping weather.
Having lived in the deep South my entire life, I have no frame of reference for this.
Think tornado. One moment, reasonably clear weather. The next, you are on your way to Oz.
Iowa sometimes gets snow in late October and I have seen it snow around Easter. Ya never know.

Yes, snow IS a four-letter word. I live in Florida to avoid the stuff and got violated by it this past January…
I live in Arizona, and we don’t get enough of the white stuff. Only little bits here and there.
