If I remember right, that predates quite a few creation myths’ timelines… not sure about Aztec though…

I think this is saying that there is a reason creation myths start AFTER that point. A lot of creating had to go on to get the world back.

isn’t 10500 bc around the time of the most recent ice age?

No, there was a small one in Europe between 1150 and 1460 and another between 1560 and 1850. 1816 was known as “The Year Without Summer”.

The term you are looking for is “glacial period”, specifically, the last glacial period, which lasted between 110,000 and 10,000 years ago. As for the ice age it was part of, that would be the Quaternary glaciation, which started over two and a half million years ago, and lasts to this very day (as strange as you may find it).

10500 BC would be Younger Dryas. Cold snap *after* the ice age. Sometimes blamed on Laacher See, sometimes blamed on a comet.

That’s freaky. I just read a short story inspired by H.P. Lovecraft that mentioned those kinds of archaeological anomalies.

Art imitating life. Truth hidden in plain sight. No one would ever think it’s true … being hidden in a comic…. on the Internet.
