Oh Scarlet.. it’s not physical hurt that Cass is afraid of.

Possibility 1: Cass is worried FOR Scar, that she might hurt someone else physically or emotionally.
Possibility 2: Cass can see that Scar is WAY more dangerous that Scar knows.

Scar is way more dangerous than her physical capabilities suggest. Never P* off an engineer.

I’m also thinking in terms of Virigar, lord of the Great Beasts, from Ryk Spoor’s novels. Not *just* a werewolf….

An engineer will keep trying things until something works.

Then they’ll figure out how to improve it.

And scar is way more aggressive than a timber wolf. That makes a difference.

That’s not a very high standard for aggressiveness . . . Most wolves aren’t aggressive.

In fact, when they tracked down a report “wolf attack” a few years ago, they learned that the “victim” had accidentally cornered the wolf and gotten run over while the wolf was getting away.

When someone doesn’t take seriously their ability to be dangerous, that’s when they’re really dangerous. You have to recognize that you need to check yourself. Someone who is so frustrated and upset that they need to beat up mounds of dirt – yes, that’s a channeled avenue, but that’s a lot of rage and that needs to be taken seriously. Secondarily – Cass has had as hard a time as Atsali, at times, with the prospect of losing someone close to her. Scar being that enraged AT Cass? Terrifying.

A wise man knows exactly how much violence is inside of himself”

Yeah, and even if her assessment of how dangerous she is to those around her was accurate, that doesn’t mean others have as accurate a gauge. I know all too well how easy it is to forget how one’s rage might be perceived by others. I’ve always had anger issues, thankfully I’ve managed to not get violent since the 7th grade, due to swearing a vow of pacifism so my anger couldn’t try to “justify” hurting someone in the heat of the moment. People that know me know I’m about as dangerous as a teddy bear, and thus don’t feel endangered (much) when I’m exploding, sure I get loud enough I might hurt your ears, and I’ll certainly say very hurtful things, but that’s the full extent of it. However, I’m around 6 feet tall and weigh around 300lbs, so people who don’t know me don’t see a teddy bear when I get enraged, they see a grizzly. It can be easy to forget that not everyone knows that I’d never harm them, no matter how upset I got, and thus not only do I come of as very threatening when I’m like that, but since I’m usually very jovial and happy the drastic change in demeanor is also rather scary.

TL;DR, angry people are scary, especially to those who don’t know how violent they might actually be.

Well, Scarlet, you did once take the guy she was interested in away from her.

Well, that happened after Cass had already ‘pushed’ Timmy away and before Cass realized what she had done.

So, it could easily be said Cass ‘gave’ Timmy to Scar.

That’s how Cass and Scar took it.

That said, why are the claws out, Scarlet?

I think she popped them just now to look at in light of her thoughts. I don’t think she just realized she had them out, but rather exposed them to consider how dangerous she really wasn’t.
      She’s wrong, but still.

Oh poor girl. It’s not about how strong you are. It’s about what you mean to her and the damage you could do to her heart.

Scar, you’re an an applied high energy physicist/engineer. Your claws and teeth are the least of your opponent’s worries. (a.k.a. your brain is your best weapon).

    Hurt, no. Intimidate, possibly.

Also, physical threat of danger is not quite in the same ballpark as hoping a friend whose opinion you care about doesn’t hate you.

Scarlet is half dogman (Mom’s side) and half Kitsune (Dad’s side).
