I get the feeling that the school is close enough to non-paras that flying nearby wouldn’t be a good idea. Flight practices were in Norway, as we saw when she first joined
Yea I know what you mean. There’s only so much blood to go around, and at times it seemed my brain suffered from a lack of it. It never got bad, or good, arguments can be made for both, enough I actually passed out, but I did do some pretty brain dead things while under the influence…
I was worried about a crowd of kids damaging the roof by walking on it, but this one has a floor. It was intended to be walked on. You would think this place would be well known to the students down through the ages.
Well Digit has done it now. She’s fully invoked the “Curse of the Rooftop Meeting Group.” One person on a roof is a brooking figure coming to grips with the world. Two people on a roof are a crime fighting duo. A full group on a roof are obligated to be having mystical or science fantasy adventures.
Castela, Daylla, Scarlet, Timothy, and Abbie (last page) have yet to start a true mystical/science fantasy adventure, but they have a Rooftop to Sit on. By correlative requirement, they must now start one.

I just finished rereading through the archives on Sunday. Preeeetty sure I recall one character from another.
@Jeff
I don’t think that style of school roof is particularly common in the states? That is, fenced in and set up for student use. Not that I spend my time going around highschools.
Every school I had ever gone to was locked off and for maintenance only, up to and including university in NYC.
Pretty sure the reason the school roof has never been seen before is that Paul just got the 3d environment up and running a little before the first posting of it. 😛
They take a lot of work to build initially, but ever after, backgrounds are just a matter of rotating the camera angle. Totally worth it if you’re going to make a lot of comics out of a particular setting.
I guess that Atsali didn’t do much flying in Gryphon’s local airspace.
Or she just didn’t notice the benches and put two and two together….

Well, it doesn’t appear to be a basketball or tennis court.
No lines on the floor. No net in evidence.
I guess it’s just a rooftop gathering place.
looks like someone is still a bit clingy.i wonder if i should still feel sorry for Timothy…
Timothy looks over at you and says “What? I can’t hear you.”
BINGO.
At least Timothy has warm ears.
Naaaaaaaaah!!!
At that age, I’d have been in danger of fainting in that spot, but not from lack of air…

Does it seem to the rest of us that Castela and her gang may be the kids the staff should be warned in advance about?
Having been a former spider, Digit was privy to a LOT of surreptitious knowledge!
Daylla has improved her human-form morph quite a bit… her eyes are getting much closer to “mundane”.
I believe Digit is on the verge of smiling.
Are we looking at a THIRD generation of Wapsi here? This looks a lot like the ” before” picture of a 7- year arc!!

Looks like the roof of the school in Sakamichi no apollon.
Somebody must’ve intended people to be there. There are benches.
What if the rooftop gathering area (with seating provided) was a rest area for staff & faculty? 😕
New zone unlocked!
Achievement “Rooftop Refuge” gained.
+10
I don’t watch anime. I have no idea what everyone is excited about here. Can someone explain?
Most anime is set in Japan, naturally, where space is at a premium especially in urban areas.
A lot of urban buildings in anime, especially schools, use their rooftops as recreation space, in order to conserve precious space.
I don’t think I’ve even seen a school situated Japanese drama/comedy/anime/TV show that didn’t include rooftop scenes.
Also, from that crack about “seven years,” I’m guessing Gryphon High incorporates junior high, too.
Middle school, too.
Looks as if it’s a one-stop para school – K – 12.

…but Abbie is a senior.
no she isn’t she’s in the same grade as Pickle… ATSALI is a senior though… possibly you got confused?
Abbie and Atsali are both seniors. So is Mallory, Devyn, Alexis, Berdine, and Nadette.
No, Abbie is at the same Grade as Atsali.
Sill, it’s kind of strange that the roof plaza was a best-kept secret. I wonder why?

College had some rooftop decks, mostly on the dorms and science buildings.
Reminds me of the school roof in “Princess Diaries” when Anne Hathaway’s character slides off the step and sits down rather suddenly….
How to make friends in one easy step! 😀
